Italian Dinner Party February 26, 2011

We started off the evening with a 2008 bottle of Rombauer Zinfandel and white Russians.  What a way to start the night.

The appetizer was a shrimp spread with crackers.

1st course~~French onion soup dumpling with gruyere cheese

2nd course~~Seared diver sea scallops w/ balsamic glaze

3rd course~~Roasted red pepper soup w/ mini chili relleno and homemade Rosemary bread and butter.

4th course~~Fresh pasta lasagna w/ vegetarian sauce, homemade ricotta and Mozzarella cheeses, organic green beans, Caesar salad and whole wheat crusted baguette with an Italian compound butter.

5th course~~Rum cake with vanilla ice cream.

We ended the night with Vincent Van Gogh Espresso Vodka.

I think the evening was amazing.  Good company and endless food.  What more can you ask for?  Comments welcome.

Fantastic meal, Kathi you never fail to impress! The french onion soup dumplings were amazing, delicate little balls of pastry with the french onion "soup" inside. The lasagna was sooo good. The noodles were so thin and fresh. The home made ricotta melted in my mouth and you could taste the fresh basil in the delicate tomato sauce. My mouth is stating to water as I think about it. Great time, you are a great chef Kathi! Thanks for having us.

Chef Kathi is amazing. She made these French onion soup dumplings that blew my mind. I was tripping out when she was explaining the dish. I popped one in my mouth at it was simply delicious.
Everything was amazing. She made the best lasagna I have ever had. Who thought vegeterian lasagna could be so good. Thanks for the great evening. Can't wait for the next party.
